In 1969, Dan Evins, a visionary from Tennessee, saw a gap in the market. As the Interstate expanded, connecting people to new destinations, there was a lack of reliable, high-quality stops along the way. Travelers needed a place to stretch their legs, refuel, and enjoy a good meal at a fair price. Evins envisioned creating an old-fashioned country store that would provide just that—a place that brought the essence of country life to road-weary travelers and local families.
